Fix Fading Fast

Paired with SKWOL® One Step Oxidation Remover, The Ultra Violet Pad™ removes fading while polishing your gelcoat to a high-gloss finish, keeping surface temperatures stable, channeling away spent material, and maintaining consistent contact for uniform results.

People are asking

What makes The Ultra Violet Pad™ different than other purple wool pads?

The elephant in the room in that there are hundreds, if not thousands of (what appear to be) identical polishing pads on the market and just like many other products, there are "clones" or "knock-offs." On the surface, they appear to be the same as brand name products, and claim to perform just as well – but often lack the same high purity raw materials, regulatory compliance and quality control that name brands stand behind. All of our pads are manufactured in the U.S.A. and made to the highest standards and specifications. When our customers use our Ultra Violet Pad™ they can trust that the results will be consistently best-in-class.

How many pads do I need for my boat?

We recommend one (1) Ultra Violet Pad for every 5 linear feet of gelcoat. For example, on a 20' boat, the port side (20') plus the starboard side (20') equals approximately 40 linear feet of surface area. At a rate of one pad per 5 linear feet, we recommend having eight (8) pads available to maintain peak performance, achieve the best possible finish, and minimize pad oversaturation.

How should I care for and maintain these pads to ensure longevity?

After use, clean your pads with warm water and pH neutral soap like SKWOL® pH Neutral Boat Soap and a soft bristle brush or towel to remove polish/compound residues. Dry them thoroughly before storing to avoid mildew or foam degradation. Store them flat or “face down” on surfaces that won’t deform the foam.

What buffer/polisher compatibility do these pads support?

The Launch Pad™ is compatible with random orbital (Dual Action or DA) polishers, as well as “Forced DA” polishers.

What design features help prevent damage to paint during polishing?

The Ultra Violet™ wool pad features a reinforced foam interface engineered to endure the rigors of professional marine detailing. When used with SKWOL® Oxidation Remover One Step Compound, it effectively refines surfaces, eliminating fine imperfections and leaving behind a deep, high-gloss finish in a single pass. Its dense wool fibers are designed to resist caking and matting, ensuring consistent results throughout the job. Flexible by nature, the pad adapts seamlessly to curves and contours, making it equally effective on gelcoat surfaces and painted finishes.

I started with a store bought pad to save money but I might as well have been using My hand. The pressure I had to apply to the buffer with crappy results. Ordered the ultra violet pads and the difference was incredible. The pads do the work!

Pad did not hold up for even a quarter of the boat

Hi James, we're sorry to hear about your experience with the Ultra Violet Pad™. Should you choose to contact our support team we'd love the opportunity assist you further and help explain how these types of pads work. In the meantime, a general rule of thumb in the industry is to clean or swap out pads every 5-6 linear feet. Cleaning can be done with a spur tool, strait edge, compressed air, or machine washing, while swapping best guarantees consistent efficacy every time. That said, a single pads is not meant to be used without pause on an entire hull. Wool pads in particular are subject to over saturation with residual compound and oxidized gelcoat, at which point they lose their ability to perform as intended. The more oxidized the boat, or the more product being a pplied to the pad, the more important it is to clean or swap often. Hopefully this helps and please don't hesitate to reach out for further assistance. We're here and happy to help!

These Ultra Violet Pads Work!

These pads work very well. I picked up a used boat that was oxidized rather badly. I’ve tried other systems in the past that worked ok, but they were quite a lot of work. The whole system works as advertised. The pads are especially nice, they don’t overwork the finish.

Oxidation Remover and CeramicTop Coat

Oxidation remover worked excellent bringing color back on a 31 year old boat. Ceramic Top Coat took a bit to get the application figured out for no streaking but very pleased with the results. Looking forward to see how it holds up through the season.
