For tools outside the warranty window, SKWOL® offers a discretionary post-warranty service program for repairable units. Each tool is individually evaluated, and when serviceable, restored using authentic components and meticulous workmanship. Darktide P21 Polisher works Great.

I have purchased two (cheap) polishers than I purchased the Darktide P21 Polisher. What a difference in the time and shine the P21 makes. It's not cheap but I wasted $120.00 + on the cheap ones.

Professional results for fraction of the cost.

All of Skwols products are fantastic. That being said. I don’t have a comparison. I bought a 2007 moomba mobius lsv in October. It had a lot of oxidation. I bought the polisher, purple wool pads, oxidation remover and ceramic sealant. It was so easy and completely changed the look of the boat.I have never buffed or polished anything before. First time doing a task like this and skwol gave me the professional results most would spend thousands of dollars to achieve. I recommend them to everybody who asks.

First time using a polisher

First time using a polisher. I thought it worked great and could hold it multiple ways to prevent fatigue. The motor never got hot on me. It also came with extra brushes for the motor, so that is a plus.

1st Time user

First time ever using a polisher and this one has worked flawlessly so far on my 26’ black faded bow rider. The purple pad is absolutely amazing when used with their one step polish, l had to order more because one wasn’t enough. Learning as l go and l must say the results are as good if not better than when I’ve paid professionals to do the same job.

What size pads fit on this polisher?

This polisher comes with a 6" interchangeable backplate that fits 6-6.25" pads with hook & loop (velcro) backings. The backing plate can be replaced with a 5" model (sold separately) for smaller surface areas.

Is a 6" polisher better than a 5" for boats?

Yes. 6" backing plates offer faster coverage on large hulls and decks, better pad stability on flat and mildly contoured surfaces and improved efficiency when paired with long-throw motion. Professionals may still keep a 5" setup for tight areas, but for boat correction, 6" on a 21mm throw is considered gold standard.

Why does wattage matter on a dual-action polisher?

Gelcoat is significantly harder than automotive clear coat, which means it loads pads heavily and demands sustained torque. A 1000W motor ensures the machine maintains orbit and pad rotation under pressure, especially important when correcting oxidation on large hull surfaces.

Can this replace a rotary polisher?

In many cases, yes, and with fewer risks. Our 21mm DA polisher paired with our pads and oxidation remover compound can remove heavy oxidation, level gelcoat effectively and finish down cleaner and smoother than a rotary. Rotaries still have a place for extreme cases, but for most DIY boat owner in particular, a long-throw DA delivers near-rotary results with dramatically less learning curve.
