Scientifically speaking
Chemistry is the science of how substances interact, combine, and change. Chemicals are the building blocks of everything—water, air, and even the materials we use. Today's negative association with the word “Chemical” stems from the fear of harmful substances, which is fair as so many products have been found to contain harmful chemicals - particularly those that bioaccumulate.
However, most chemicals are, in fact, safe and even essential for life. By labeling all chemicals as bad, we create unnecessary fear and misunderstanding. Instead, we should focus on whether a chemical is safe or harmful in its specific use, dosage, and context, rather than assuming all chemicals are dangerous at all times. Clear, science-based conversations help us make better decisions about safety and environmental impact.
It's important to understand the context in which a chemical is being applied before drawing conclusions about its safety or environmental impact. When properly formulated a solution can become safer and more eco-friendly, breaking down harmlessly in the environment. This process, in turn, can minimized individual chemical impacts without compromising how well they work. Even if certain ingredients might be considered to be "toxic" by themselves at higher concentrations, the final mixture when combined with other active or inactive ingredients can be designed to neutralize them - reducing harm by changing how they behave together – Much like how raw ingredients in food can change when cooked — becoming something different and safer to use.
Our formulas
Our top priority is progress, rather than perfection, as we believe the former is more realistically attainable. In that ongoing pursuit of moving the industry needle, all of our formulas are developed to limit ecological impact compared to traditional solutions, striking a best-in-class balance of efficacy and sustainability - and all of our formulas will continue to evolve and improve in these categories in lockstep with scientific innovation.
