Step-by-step instructions
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTES
Surface Prep:
Before using Deck & Hull Ceramic Top Coat, it's important to make sure surface is clean, dry, and cool to the touch. Do not apply in extreme temperatures or in direct sunlight.
Cure Time:
Allow at least 4–6 hours for full bonding. Avoid water contact during this time. For best results, it is always recommended to allow up to 24 hours of cure time before contact with water, rain or cleaning solutions.
Maintenance:
For the longest-lasting protection and durability of your ceramic top coat, opt for pH neutral soaps and cleaners and avoid the use of cleaning products that contain the following ingredients as they are proven to strip wax, polish and protective coatings:
• Degreasers (Simple Green, Most Boat Soaps and Dish Soaps etc.)
• Bleach (Bathroom Cleaners, Household disinfectants etc.)
• Harsh Acids (Spray Nine, Vinegar, Barkeeper Friend, and many Hull Cleaners)
NOTE: If you do use products that contain ingredients like the above, it is recommended that you neutralize the surface and re-apply Deck & Hull. We develop all of our formulas to work together and therefore recommend cleaning with SKWOL™ Wash & Prep and Formula 4, which are both pH neutral solutions that are free from degreasers, harsh acids and bleach.
Step 1: Initial Washdown
Start with a clean, dry surface. Use a soap that leaves no residue behind. We recommend SKWOL™ Wash & Prep, as we specifically formulate our solutions to work together.
Step 2: Spray & Buff
Working in small sections (2x2 ft), lightly mist 1–2 sprays per section onto surface. Gently buff-in product onto surface immediately with a clean microfiber cloth. NOTE: Waiting too long between spraying and buffing can make product challenging to apply as Deck & Hull is designed to set quickly.
